Scope and content
Cartoon featuring traditional socialist Labour supporters Frank Cousins (general secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union) and Jennie Lee MP look on as their colleagues Hugh Gaitskell (deputy leader) and Lee's husband, Aneurin Bevan (shadow foreign secretary), appear in front of of the Bank of England in the new guise of capitalist City businessmen. Though Gaitskell and Griffiths hold the Financial Times and Investor's Chronicle, Bevan has the Tribune in his pocket to indicate that he is not completely at one with the others.
