Original illustration which accompanied the article 'The last word on History' by AC Grayling which appeared in the Guardian on 15 January 2000 on the importance of history with reference to the libel action taken against Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books by right-wing historian David Irving. Drawing shows a clock on a brick wall, but the numbers are painted backwards.
