Scope and content
Oval bronze relief of Edward 'Ted' Scott, mounted on wood. Youngest son of CP Scott, Ted Scott became editor of the Manchester Guardian on his father's retirement in 1929. However, he died in a tragic boating accident only three months after the death of his father in 1932. His death triggered the creation of the Scott Trust by his brother John to protect the paper from the crippling death duties and to ensure its continued editorial independence.
