Fait partie de Papers and artwork of Abu Abraham

This cartoon accompanied an article in The Observer that noted that 'Fidel Castro's victory in Cuba has been welcomed with remarkable unanimity in all the free countries of Latin America'. The cartoon shows the representatives of the so-called 'free-world' all as military leaders. These are (left to right): Chinese nationalist leader Chiang Kai-Shek, Pakistan's president, Field Marshal Mohammed Ayub Khan, General De Gaulle of France (then heavily criticised over the war in Algeria), Portuguese dictator Antonio de Oliveria and Spanish dictator General Francisco Franco. Fidel Castro holds a banner emblazoned with the words: 'Long live Democracy!'.
