Cartoon shows a hand reaching up from a city covered in dense smog towards a hill covered in luscious vegetation.
It is likely that the cartoon is a comment on air pollution and was produced in the early 1970s when there was an increasing awareness of environmental issues and the international environmental movement was gathering increasing support.
