On the left of this cartoon, four old men in military uniforms direct their gaze upon the person to the right. All five figures are certainly old, with examples of wheelchairs, walking sticks and dark glasses [to suggest blindness] all visible, however the man on the right is particularly frail. In the distance, as well as in the bottom left foreground, degraded [Greek or Roman] architecture can also be seen.
