Scope and content
Joe Gormley, NUM leader, is depicted as a blacksmith with a mallet and an anvil labelled "Ballot"; he has just made a gleaming new sword saying "81 percent mandate"; Ted Heath stands nervously at the door carrying a small shield saying "CBI" and a broken sword saying "46.4 percent mandate"; stuck to the wall of the barn is a poster announcing: "Coming! E Heath (Who rules the country?) v J Gormley (Who rules the NUM?) - Bystanders' safety not guaranteed".
