Scope and content
Illustration originally accompanying an article titled 'Bosses make a huge difference, but politics, like football, is a team game', by Jonathan Freedland, published in the Guardian, 28 June 2006. The article discusses the cult of leadership in relation to the masochistic management styles of Tony Blair and England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson. The illustration shows a blindfolded man in suit about to walk off a cliff edge; he is holding a rope tied around the neck of another man who is gagged, and looks panicked. Cutting with published illustration supplied.
