Scope and content

Illustration originally accompanying an article titled 'After a global howl of outrage, we have returned to business as usual', by Jonathan Freedland, published in the Guardian, 24 June 2009. The article discusses stasis within the UK Government and despair at is inability to change in spite of major global events. The illustration shows an exaggeratedly large mule digging its hooves into the ground and refusing to budge, despite a crowd of people pulling it forward. The Houses of Parliament logo is draped over the mule's body. Cutting with published illustration supplied.
