Italian dancer and choreographer. Studied at the Ballet School of the Royal Theatres, made her debut in 1832. She then continued to tour Italy and Austria and eventually became a prima ballerina at the La Scala in Milan. She is often known to be one of the few women in her time to be recognised as a choreographer.
