Eric Hammond, general secretary of the Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications and Plumbing Union (EETPU) and labelled 'electricians,' shakes hands with Rupert Murdoch. Margaret Thatcher looks towards them and claps, saying 'Bravo! Bravo!'. Behind them is a van labelled 'TNT News Delivery - Sun, Times, S. Times, N.O.W etc', with bundles of The Times newspaper being sprung onto a conveyor belt. Round the corner, bundles of workers are dropped off onto the ground by another conveyor belt; one of these bundles is labelled 'deilver to dole.' A man labelled 'tax-payer' holds a newspaper with the headline 'Record 1 in 7 Out of Work' and looks helplessly at the bundles of workers.

On the reverse is a small sketch that appears unrelated to the cartoon.

Context: at the time, members of the EETPU had provided work at Murdoch's new production plant in Wapping in lieu of print union members who had been sacked, in an event known as the Wapping dispute.
