Scope and content
Correspondence of Nora Beloff to her family covering January to December 1958. Whilst the correspondence contains letters from various destinations they are mostly from Paris where Beloff was Paris correspondent for The Observer. The first letters from January are written from Switzerland where Beloff extended her period of stay due to illness. A letter from the end of January is written from Geneva where Beloff was attending a disarmament conference. Amongst the letters from February are some press clippings of articles written by Beloff. Correspondence from April is written from and gives details of a visit to Israel. Also included are some press cuttings of articles written by Beloff for The Observer about Israel. Letters from August provide details of a working trip to Algiers. The letters from November and December discuss the possibility of Beloff moving from being The Observer's Paris correspondent to their London office. At the back of the file are letters and a postcard that do not have specific dates.
