Notebook written mostly in longhand with some shorthand, containing notes on Ruanda-Urundi [now Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Burundi] including: religion, population; language; the UN; local and national government; elections; EEC development fund; changes to the land systems; Tutsi refugees; trade; Hutus and farming; and independence.

Names featured include: Charles Mutara III Rudahigwa, [Mwambutsa IV Bangiricenge], Grégoire Kayibanda, Joseph Gitera, Anastase Makuza, Balthasar Bicamumpaka, Augustin Ndayambaje, Joseph de Man, Kigeli V Ndahindurwa, Louis Rwagasore, [Joseph] Biroli, Jean-Baptiste Ntidendereza, [André] Perraudin, and Bishop Brazier.

Also includes a telegram receipt which has not been digitised.

Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archives' Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook.
