Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes on: a draft declaration for a federation for East Africa; panafricanism; Kenyan independence; Zambian involvement in a federation; dissolution of [Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland]; federal debt; self government in NR [Northern Rhodesia]; the future of federal employees; and conferences [possibly the Victoria Falls conference July 1963].
Names featured include: Sultan Sir Jamshid bin Abdullah, [Milton] Obote, KK [Kenneth Kaunda], [RA] Butler, [Roy] Welensky, Sir George Curtis, [Winston] Field and [Alec Douglas-Home].
Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archive’s Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook.
