Notebook, written mostly in longhand with some shorthand, containing notes on: the IUCN [International Union for Conservation of Nature] 8th General Assembly held in Nairobi, Kenya in September 1963 including discussions on endangered species and the destruction of habitats; ethnic groups in Ngong, Kenya; aid to The Republic of the Congo; Irish troops in Katanga; and Nigeria including political parties, census (October 1963) and education.
Names featured include: Sir Hugh Elliot, Noel Simon, François Bourlière, Peter Scott, [Dr Ed Graham], Dr Coolidge, André Bo-Boliko Lokonga, Aminu Kano, [Abubakar Tafawa] Balewa, Ahmadu Bello, Dr SA Aluko, Gambo Sawaba, Tony Kirk-Green, George Shepherd and Ignatius Musazi.
Transcribed by Pauline Thomas in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archive’s Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook
