Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes on South Arabia including the Radfan campaign, federal expenditure and education; Rhodesia including university education, the BSA coy and investment in railways; politics and railways in Northern Rhodesia; the military and revolutionary council in Zanzibar; KK [Kenneth Kaunda] on African Unity and regional groupings; and Kenya including ethnic groups and the NE region.
Names featured include: Walter Adams, Winston Field, [Justin Chimba], [Hastings] Banda, [Sikota] Wina, Mudenda, [Elijah] Mudenda, [Wesley] Nyirenda, [Mainza] Chona, [John] Mwanakatwe, [Grey] Zulu, Lewis Changufu, KK [Kenneth Kaunda], [John] Okello, Ali Muhsin [Al-Barwani], Ali Mafudh, [Martin] Shikuku, [Masinde] Muliro, [Daniel] arap Moi and [Bildad] Kaggia.
Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archive’s Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook.
